Address Below

Some friends have asked for the address in order to send cards to Jay. We've already moved from surgical ICU to Neuro ICU, and the next step will be to a regular floor. The staff has assured me that his cards will find him.

  1. Hello Jay, Dawn, and Dev:

This is Alyssa Schuster's Aunt Judith and Uncle Joe. We haved sat through a few games together cheering the girls on and have always enjoyed every minute we have spent with you guys. Miss those games!

We heard about the medical setback you are experiencing and wanted to send some positive vibs your way. We are praying that God gives you mental and physical comfort at this time while you travel this path. We also pray that God floods the doctors with wisdom and caring hearts, but most of all a quick recovery for you.

It sounds as though you are recovering quite well and have kept your sense of humor. Keep up the hard work and keep the faith.

    Sincerely,

    Joe and Judith

  2. Dawn and Dev, Ask Jay how many times he has used the word "extraordinary" when talking about his care at the hospital.

  3. Hello Jay and Family,
It sounds as if things are making progress. There is no doubt Jay is a fighter and this setback is being accepted as a challenge. Focus and determination is in Jay's make-up and I'm sure he will make a speedy recovery.

    Update:
Western State Men's Basketball earned another victory on Saturday evening putting us atop the RMAC with a 6-1 record. We are proud our institution, our community and especially our president...keep fighting and we'll see you soon -

  4. Jay, Dawn, Dev,

Fred here. So relieved to have a channel of communication, at least on this plane, for we have been crying and praying and laughing and talking to and about you all to some "extraordinary"extent!

Love, Love, Love Jay, you are such a Huge Presence in this world to us and our family and and so many others; your well-being is held as Profound and Sacred and Inevitable and a Blessing...

Did I mention I and We love you???

And you, Dawn. And you, Dev...

Clean here. Thank you Dawn and Devanie for this site. Its been incredibly hard to focus on life without daily updates on Jay's progress. As you make progress everyday Jay, I am able to breath a little bit better. You are our rock, Jay. The family has been shaken to our core but as we all have been going through our feelings around you our family fabric has been tightened and we've been pulling strength from each other. You are loved, DEEPLY. Mom has not had success pulling this up. I will let Pete know (he has been deeply shaken) and Nancy and Bill. Our lives have been greatly affected. Love to you Dawn. Know that you are in our hearts and soul. Colleen

Had a great visit with Coach Williams, Bruce Winkler, Dave Delfino, and Fred Lavaroni at Leavey Center last night as the Santa Clara Broncos defeated the USF Dons for their first WCC win...They all now have this blog address and your contact information and we sent in a Collective Prayer for you to GET WELL soon; your ears must have been burning as the stories were flying around like Dorothy in Auntie Em's house in the TWISTER...Much love and prayers from Laura and I to you, Dev and Dawn...We will connect soon!

  8. Jay and Dawn, You both are an inspiration; and wonderful example of a team working together. "Coloradans consistently tend towards the optimistic, rarely confuse cynicism with intelligence and are willing to articulate their hopes for the future without fear" (Pam Houston). Describes you both to the letter. Love to you, Malte and Pam

  9. Jay, Dawn and Devanie,
I am having difficulty getting this blog to you, not my generation I guess! I had previously tried to say:
Although you are all on the front lines and in the trenches, everyone in this valley is pulling and praying for you, not so much as President of WSC, but as our friend. In my 50 years in the valley I have never seen such an outpouring of concern and support. Jay, you are lucky to have Dawn and Devanie in your court. Get well soon.
