I'm aware that so many of our family and friends depend on this blog to hear news of Jay, and check it quite frequently (surely not as often as I check my email while I'm here.) I wanted you to know that Jay is doing so well, that no news is good news. I also agree with Dr. Edgely who feels that at this point, Jay needs to be more personally involved with the blog.
I will communicate with Jay about his feelings about the blog. It was begun by our daughter who knew that there was no way I had time to communicate with all those who needed and wanted to know how Jay was doing. Now that Jay is recovering, I feel it necessary and respectful to make sure he is comfortable with my blog entries. Who knows? The next blog entry might come from the big guy himself!
We have a discharge plan in place. I am afraid to publicly announce the details because I'm afraid to jinx it. But breathe a collective sigh of relief to know that we are movin' right along! Jay is even more amazing now that he has been through this powerful experience. His quick wit is as sharp as ever, and his compassion and sense of humor seem to be heightened.
Thanks to all of you who care and those of you who lift up your hearts in prayer. Jay and I have a ways to go, but don't we all.............?

Good to hear! and the blog has been a wonderful way to stay in touch with Jay's progress.
ReplyDeleteDawn,
ReplyDeleteI don't know if Jay can compete with you as blog writer. He's quick on the draw orally but can he cut in the written word? Of course, he's an English major, so tell him I'm confident he can do an adequte job. ;-)
Tell him we have a new possibility for a church home--the former carpet store in the True Value mall. Mike Darnell will sell or rent and folks were really excited yesterday we when they looked.
Prayers all around for healing and homing.
Stay forever young,
bill king

ReplyDeleteSaw The SCU Broncos defeat The St. Marys Gaels last Saturday night before a sold out Leavey Center "raucous" crowd...We've come a long way since The San Jose Civic complete with the crystal chandeliers glistening from above the floor...Lots of Broncos asking about the "evil doctor" Messr. Helman ~ Paul Morrison, Clyde Lebaron, Maureen "Full Smythe" Smythe, and Carroll W. ("I wish I could play..")
Laura and I are soooo glad to hear of your amazing progress and healing; hang in there and hopefully we can visit soon...

Hooray parents! This news is very exciting. I just finished my NATS test and got my grades back from the sociology exam. I finally have a little time to relax.. I wish you guys could have this sort of break but your "cramming" is a little more long term. Stay strong and enjoy the day, call me when you get some down time! I love you both!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Jay enjoys the struggle...keep the spirit high and the laughter loud!! Your in our thoughts-
ReplyDeleteMorning Jay and Dawn,
ReplyDeleteI woke up just a little bit ago and remembered a joke, it seemed fitting for this particular moment:
What did the snail riding on the turtles back say?
Any ideas??? He said Wheeee! (Cheezy, I know!) So, I guess the important thing to remember is that, although the moving may not be as fast as some or as much as it used to be... it can still be fun, even if it is a little (or a lot) different than before.
Jay, I'm so very proud of you for finding the will to survive and overcome, and still make the best of a tough situation. When this all started something in me knew the world wasn't ready to lose someone like you... take care big guy, I'm glad we're friends.
And, Dawn, you mentioned the blog, I want you to know it has been so great to hear both the ups and downs of this process. I'm greatful to Dev, everyday, that she set this up for everyone. With that said, even great things have their time, so if it's time for it to go away or even slow down a lot that's okay. Thank you for allowing us into this crazy rollercoaster of a journey, but healing can be very personal, especially now, and it can be best to just focus on that for now. For both you and Jay! Either way, thank you for the posts up until now. You've been amazing throughout this.
Well, I'm off... Jay, it's my first day of being the primary instructor for the EMT-Basic class. I'm both nervous and excited, we'll see where this new path takes me in life. Thanks for always believing in me...
Take care, Jay and Dawn, you both have a spot in my heart, Britt
